The European Commission’s Third Annual Forum on Endocrine Disruptors 2021 was held from 21-22 September 2021. The Forum is the platform to discuss the follow-up actions on endocrine disruptors in the EU’s Chemicals Strategy for Sustainability (adopted on 14 October 2020), which was already presented during the Second Annual Forum, held last year in December 2020.
The Forum brings together scientists, policymakers, public and private stakeholders with expertise on endocrine disruptors to exchange information and best practices, identify challenges and build synergies, in order to inform the Commission’s reflections. This Forum is one of the actions in the Commission Communication of November 2018 «Towards a comprehensive European Union Framework on Endocrine Disruptors», outlining a strategic approach to endocrine disruptors for the years to come, with the ultimate goal of ensuring a high level of protection of EU citizens and the environment as well as to preserve an internal market.
Day one of this year’s Forum included presentations of the most recent developments on endocrine disruptors including progress updates from research projects funded and other European initiatives. The work of the EURION cluster, including its visions on knowledge gaps and future research needs on endocrine disruptors was presented by current EURION co-Coordinator, Lorenzo Moroni (SCREENED Coordinator, Maastricht University, the Netherlands).
The Forum will be recorded and links to the recordings will be provided on this page once they become available. For more information please visit: Third Annual Forum on Endocrine Disruptors.
